Lisa Atkins was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado and received a Bachelor's of Music in Voice Performance from CU. She completed her Master's of Music and Voice Performance from Wichita State University. She has been teaching for over 20 years in K-12 music and Theater, most recently at Rocky Mountain Christ Academy, Colorado as the K-8 Music and Theater teacher. In addition, she was alo Director of Youth Theater at The Art Underground, a.k.a The Hub, in Louisville, Colorado.

Along with music in the classroom, Lisa has formerly served as the Conductor of the Rocky Mountain Chorale in Boulder and Assistant Conductor of the Boulder Chorale.  She has also performed both the Soprano and Mezzo-Soprano solos with the Boulder Messiah Sing-Along and acted as the vocal coach for that same choir for the past 19 years. She has a passion for teaching music while making it relevant to students' lives, and connecting them to their creativity.

She believes that music is where students can learn the intangibles that will make them better citizens, better creative thinkers and problem solvers,  and more courageous individuals in their future  endeavors.

In addition to singing, she enjoys doing puzzles, sewing and amateur interior decorating. Lisa lives in Erie with her incredible husband, Jason, and their two remarkable kids. They attend Calvary Bible Church in Boulder, where she has been serving with both the youth and music ministries.
